Johnnie Walker
Johnnie Walker is a Scottish blended Scotch whisky brand born in Kilmarnock in 1820 and now owned by Diageo. Its cuvées are crafted by blending whiskies from various Scottish distilleries, under the responsibility of Master Blender Dr Emma Walker. The brand therefore does not correspond to a single estate with a vineyard area or an autonomous cellar comparable to those of a wine producer.

Histoire du domaine
The story begins in 1820, when John Walker opens a grocery store in Kilmarnock, Scotland, following the death of his father and the sale of the family farm. Faced with the inconsistency of the whiskies marketed at the time, he develops blends aimed at more consistent quality. Upon his death in 1857, his son Alexander Walker takes over the business and transforms it into a major commercial house; notably, he creates his first commercial blend, Old Highland Whisky. International expansion then accelerates to the point where Johnnie Walker is sold in more than 120 markets by 1920. In 1925, John Walker & Sons joins the Distillers Company Limited, a group that comes under the control of Guinness in 1986. The merger of Guinness with Grand Metropolitan gives birth to Diageo in 1997, the brand's current owner. After more than forty years of career at Diageo, including twenty as Master Blender, Dr Jim Beveridge retires at the end of 2021 and passes on the responsibility of Johnnie Walker blends to Dr Emma Walker, the first woman to officially hold this position in the house's history. She has since led a team of specialists responsible for composing the various expressions in the range from Diageo's reserves of Scottish whiskies.
