Champagne Suenen - Les Robarts Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut 2018 Bouteille (75cl)
Champagne Suenen Les Robarts 2018 is a Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne crafted by Aurélien Suenen. Made exclusively from Chardonnay, it comes from the lieu-dit Les Robarts, located in Cramant on the Côte des Blancs. This parcel-specific cuvée rests on shallow soils of silty clays and fractured Campanian chalk. The wine is aged for nine months on lees in a 20-hectolitre wooden foudre, then continues its ageing on lees in bottle for approximately five years. Its Extra Brut dosage preserves the precise expression of Cramant Chardonnay.

Suenen
Located in Cramant, Champagne Suenen is a family estate managed by Aurélien Suenen since 2009. Its five hectares are spread across the grands crus of Cramant, Chouilly, and Oiry in the Côte des Blancs, as well as the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The estate notably crafts single-plot Blanc de Blancs, including La Cocluette and Les Robarts, as well as La Grande Vigne, made from Meunier in Montigny-sur-Vesle.

Histoire du domaine
The Suenen family has been established in Champagne for five generations: its winegrowing roots date back to 1898, while the founding of the estate is generally dated to 1905. After the Second World War, Bernard Suenen developed estate-bottling. His son Daniel expanded the vineyard, progressively increasing sales from around 4,000 to 20,000 bottles, and created the family's first vintage champagnes. When Daniel fell ill in 2008, Aurélien Suenen took on more responsibilities, then assumed management of the estate following his father's passing in 2009. He then restructured the range and the vineyard, discontinued the use of herbicides and insecticides starting in 2012, and deepened parcel-by-parcel vinification. Les Robarts, in Cramant, was isolated starting from the 2012 harvest; La Cocluette in Oiry, Le Mont-Aigu in Chouilly, and La Grande Vigne in Montigny-sur-Vesle followed with the 2013 vintage.

Its terroir combines silty-clay soil with an upper Campanian chalk subsoil. This is the first single-plot cuvée produced by Aurélien Suenen.
