Dona Mafalda Douro 2015
The 2015 Dona Mafalda Douro is a Portuguese red wine from the Douro region, crafted by Dona Mafalda for Christie Wines. It is a blend of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional. The Quinta Dona Mafalda estate spans nearly 7 hectares of vineyards in the Douro, about a third of which consist of old vines; the grape varieties cultivated there include the three varieties used in this blend. Douro red wines also represent a distinct activity for the house, alongside its Port production.

Histoire du domaine
Quinta Dona Mafalda is the wine estate associated with Christie’s Port Wine Producer & Shipper, Lda., a family-run business that has been active in the trade and production of Port wines for two generations. The company also continues the historical legacy of Butler, Nephew & Co., which dates back to 1829. Christie’s has developed the production of still wines from the Douro under the name Quinta Dona Mafalda. The estate, situated near Lamego, comprises approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, a third of which are old vines. In 2014 and 2015, part of the vineyard was replanted and some plots were thinned out. Work to refurbish the production facilities began in 2015. In 2016, the company centralised production and bottling operations at the estate in order to operate on a smaller scale. Winemaking is now overseen by oenologist Carlos Valente.
