Domain Coche Dury Bourgogne Rouge 2006

The 2006 Domaine Coche-Dury Bourgogne Rouge is a red Burgundy wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir. This cuvée comes from a 0.75-hectare vineyard planted between 1973 and 1980 on soils mixing clay and sand. The grapes are entirely destemmed, and the wine is aged in barrels for 15 to 22 months depending on the vintage and the cuvée. Bottled unfiltered, this Bourgogne Rouge expresses the estate's traditional approach applied to its Pinot Noir wines.

Histoire du domaine

The origins of the Coche-Dury estate date back to the interwar period in Meursault. For a long time, a significant proportion of its production was sold in bulk to Burgundian wine merchants. From 1964 onwards, Georges Coche expanded the vineyard and steered the estate increasingly towards bottling on the premises. His son Jean-François subsequently took over the family business. In 1975, his marriage to Odile Dury led to the adoption of the name Coche-Dury. Jean-François gradually expanded the estate’s holdings, notably through the acquisition of plots in the climats of Meursault and in Volnay. Raphaël Coche-Dury joined the estate in 1997 and initially worked alongside his father. He is now solely responsible for the estate’s management, the running of the vineyard and the winemaking. The estate currently cultivates around 10.5 hectares under vine, with the majority of the land situated in the commune of Meursault.
