Histoire du domaine
The château and its chapel date from the 19th century, but Minuty’s winemaking history began in 1936, when the wine merchant Gabriel Farnet acquired a property that then comprised 17 hectares of vineyards. After the Second World War, Gabriel Farnet and his wife Jeanne moved to the estate and replanted the vineyard – which had been abandoned during the Occupation – with southern grape varieties. In 1955, Château Minuty was recognised as a ‘cru classé’ estate within the Côtes-de-Provence appellation. In 1960, their daughter Monique and her husband Étienne Matton joined the estate; they undertook renovation work on the winery buildings and restructured the vineyard. That same year, Monique Matton designed the bottle known as the ‘corset flute’, which has become a hallmark of the estate. Jean-Étienne and François Matton, the sons of Monique and Étienne, subsequently joined the family business and modernised both the winemaking methods and the production facilities. The vineyard was gradually expanded, notably through the acquisition of Château Verez in Vidauban in 2018. Anne-Victoire Matton joined the management of Minuty in 2022. In 2023, LVMH acquired Minuty through Moët Hennessy.
Cuvée Prestige
Prestige is an iconic cuvée from Minuty, produced in rosé, white, and red under the Côtes de Provence AOC. It is based on a selection of grapes from Provençal terroirs, complemented by chosen parcels from the estate. The range seeks a balance between freshness, purity, aromatic precision, and elegant structure.
- Style of the cuvée
- Precise and elegant Provençal wines, favoring aromatic freshness, purity, and balance. The rosé is notably characterized by its tension, saline minerality, and delicate finish; the white by its liveliness and the expression of Rolle; the red by its roundness and structure.
- Position within the range
- High-end emblematic cuvée of Minuty branded wines, intended in particular for restaurants and wine merchants.
Histoire de la cuvée
The Prestige cuvée was created over 25 years ago by Jean-Étienne and François Matton, representatives of the third family generation. Minuty presented it in 2020 as the oldest cuvée in its range and as a benchmark established for 25 years in fine dining and among wine merchants. The official sources consulted do not allow for a precise creation year to be established.
