Domaine Charles Lachaux
Charles Lachaux is a micro-wine merchant established in Vosne-Romanée by the winemaker of the same name, alongside his work at the family estate, Arnoux-Lachaux. The project began with the vinification of an Aligoté from a plot on the family estate, and subsequently expanded to include grapes purchased from partner winegrowers in Burgundy. Charles Lachaux personally oversees the vineyard work and winemaking for this range.

Histoire du domaine
Charles Lachaux comes from a family of winegrowers established in Vosne-Romanée since 1858, who founded the estate now known as Arnoux-Lachaux. After training in viticulture in Beaune and gaining experience abroad, he joined the family estate in 2011. There, he gradually took charge of the vineyards and winemaking. His own business, Charles Lachaux, was established in March 2018 in Vosne-Romanée. The project stemmed from a desire to produce wine under a separate label from a 0.6-hectare plot of Aligoté belonging to the family estate Arnoux-Lachaux, the grapes from which had previously been sold to wine merchants. The first bottles were from the 2018 vintage. The range has since expanded to include grapes purchased from partner growers, whilst the Aligoté continues to be sourced from the family’s own plot. The company’s registered business activities include the sale of wine, the purchase of grapes for winemaking, and the provision of wine-making services. A winery has been in operation in Ladoix-Serrigny since 2021. Since the 2023 vintage, the producer has used the term ‘Vinagrologie’ to describe its approach, which combines soil management and winemaking.

Located in the southern part of the vineyard area, towards the border with Nuits-Saint-Georges, it comprises two sections bordering the D906 and separated by a lane descending towards Nuits-Saint-Georges. A producer's plot datasheet describes lean, slightly marly clay-limestone soils, facing east and southeast.

Histoire de la parcelle
The cadastral file associated with the Climats of the Burgundy vineyard links La Croix Blanche to section AK of Vosne-Romanée. Local tradition reported by several producers connects its toponym to a white stone cross placed at an old crossroads; no verifiable dating of this cross has been found.
