Peyre Rose des Clos Cistes 2004
Peyre Rose Clos des Cistes 2004 is a red wine from the Languedoc appellation, made from Syrah (85%) and Grenache (15%). This cuvée is based on stony clay-limestone hillsides reclaimed from garrigue brushland. Farming has been certified organic since planting; the grapes are harvested and sorted by hand, then fully destemmed. Aging combines vats and, for a quarter of the blend, large oak foudres.

Histoire du domaine
Domaine des Peyre occupies a site established along the Via Domitia, where archaeological excavations have revealed the remains of a Roman villa. The property notably includes an 18th-century fortified former farmhouse and the Chapelle Saint-Peyre, whose origin is attributed to the 9th century. Patricia Alexandre, a journalism specialist in gastronomy and former director of Gault Millau, and Georges Antoun, hotelier and president of the Newhotel group, took over the property in June 2012. At the time, they discovered dilapidated buildings, poorly maintained vines and the absence of an operational winemaking facility. Two years of work were dedicated to restoring the farmhouse and chapel, building a modern cellar, and pulling up and replanting plots. The renovated estate was inaugurated in 2015. Its cuvées, among which Paparazzi, Gazette, Gala and L’Équipe, bear names inspired by the world of journalism in reference to Patricia Alexandre's background. The vineyard obtained High Environmental Value certification in 2019, then initiated its organic conversion, completed to allow the organic labeling of production starting from the 2025 vintage.
