Loire Alexandre Bain L. d'Ange 2014 Double-Magnum
L. d'Ange 2014 is a white wine from Pouilly-Fumé in the Loire Valley, produced by Alexandre Bain. This cuvée is crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The estate farms its vineyards according to organic and biodynamic practices, with manual harvesting at optimal maturity. In the cellar, Alexandre Bain favors a minimal-intervention approach with no added oenological products, in order to preserve the true expression of the grape.

Alexandre Bain
Based in Boisfleury, in the commune of Tracy-sur-Loire, Alexandre Bain farms 11 hectares dedicated primarily to Sauvignon Blanc. He works the limestone terroirs of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation area according to organic and biodynamic agricultural principles, using animal traction on the most fragile parcels. His harvest at maturity and low-intervention vinifications give rise to deep white wines, often commercialized as Vin de France.

Histoire du domaine
Alexandre Bain does not come from a family of winemakers, but attributes his attachment to the land to his farmer grandfather. He trained in viticulture and oenology in Beaune, then gained experience with producers working in organic farming, biodynamics, or according to low-intervention practices. In 2007, he settled in the lieu-dit of Boisfleury, in Tracy-sur-Loire, with about 5 hectares of vines in the Pouilly-Fumé area and produced his first vintage. The estate has gradually expanded to reach 11 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, spread across Portlandian and Kimmeridgian limestones. Alexandre Bain prioritizes soil cultivation, notably with a horse, manual harvesting at full maturity, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and extended aging. Starting from the 2014 vintage, several of his wines no longer obtained the Pouilly-Fumé appellation and have been commercialized as Vin de France. The L. d'Ange cuvée, which allows this producer to be precisely identified, is dedicated to the youngest daughter of Alexandre and Caroline Bain.
L. d'Ange
L. d'Ange is a white Sauvignon wine marketed separately by Alexandre Bain, generally under the Vin de France designation. Coming from shallow soils close to the bedrock, it is distinguished by extended aging and a full, profound, and structured expression. Several documented vintages confirm that this is a recurring cuvée of the estate.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- The name combines the initial L of Luce, third daughter of Alexandre Bain, with the word "ange" (angel); the cuvée is dedicated to her.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2013
- Style of the cuvée
- Ripe, full, and profound Sauvignon Blanc, featuring a generous texture and an evolved aromatic expression, balanced by a fresh, mineral, and saline backbone.

Histoire de la cuvée
The first documented release found is the 2013 vintage. The cuvée, dedicated to Luce, the third daughter of Alexandre Bain, was subsequently produced across multiple vintages, sometimes with particularly long aging periods indicated on the label.
