Château Pavie Decesse
Château Pavie-Decesse was a Saint-Émilion cru classé comprising plots on the limestone plateau, historically separated from Château Pavie at the end of the 19th century. Owned by the Perse family since its acquisition by Gérard Perse in 1997, its vineyard has been incorporated into the Château Pavie blend from 2022 onwards. Pavie-Decesse is therefore no longer an independent producer.

Histoire du domaine
The history of Château Pavie-Decesse is linked to that of Château Pavie and to plots situated on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Adolphe Pigasse is described as the first known owner of what would become the estate. In 1885, the wine merchant Ferdinand Bouffard separated a section known as ‘Pigasse’ from the main Pavie estate and named it Château Pavie-Decesse. After the First World War, the property underwent several changes of ownership. It was awarded Grand Cru Classé status in the 1954 classification, under the management of Mr Marzelle, according to the history of Vignobles Perse. In 1970, the Valette family, then owners of Château Pavie, took over its management, before acquiring Pavie-Decesse in 1990. Gérard Perse subsequently purchased the estate in 1997. The plots, predominantly planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, have long produced a distinctive wine vinified by the team at the Perse estates. In 2022, the Pavie-Decesse vineyard was incorporated into the Château Pavie blend, bringing an end to its existence as a separate cuvée and independent producer.
