During this tasting, the publication noted a still healthy and youthful-looking color, but a fruit expression that had already faded, a short finish and a hollow palate, despite tannins that had become softer with time.

The color is sound and still youthful looking, but the problem this wine has is the lack of fruit that results in a short finish and an empty taste on the palate. Time has helped soften the wine's astringency, but the fruit continues to fade. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 7/85.
