Domaine de Marcoux
A historic family estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine de Marcoux is currently run by Sophie Armenier and her son Vincent Estevenin. Its 28.3 hectares are mainly distributed between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Lirac, with complementary parcels in Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de France. The vineyard has been farmed organically since 1991, while vinification favors indigenous yeasts and measured aging in vats and large wooden vessels.

Histoire du domaine
The presence of the Armenier family in Châteauneuf-du-Pape is documented as far back as 1344, when five households bearing an older form of the name appear in a tax register kept in the departmental archives of Avignon. The estate has been built up and reshaped over the course of family marriages and successions. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, Émile Armenier took part in collective efforts aimed at protecting and delimiting the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. His grandson Philippe founded the modern structure of the estate in 1980 from family vines and initiated its conversion to organic farming in 1990; the entire vineyard was converted the following year. In 1995, Sophie and Catherine Armenier took over the management of Marcoux, with Catherine dedicating herself mainly to the vines and Sophie to winemaking. Vincent Estevenin, Sophie's son, joined the estate in 2014. Catherine Armenier retired in 2019; the estate has since been managed by Sophie Armenier and Vincent Estevenin, with the latter being particularly involved in vineyard management.
