Quintarelli Recioto Della Valpolicella 1974
The 1974 Recioto della Valpolicella from Giuseppe Quintarelli is a red wine from Veneto, Italy. Its blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Corvina, Corvinone, Croatina, Nebbiolo, Rondinella, and Sangiovese. For this Recioto cuvée, the estate selects grapes from suitable parcels, then subjects them to natural appassimento in boxes or on racks. The grapes are pressed around late January following approximately twenty days of maceration, prior to fermentation conducted by indigenous yeasts. The Recioto retains a natural sweetness derived from residual sugars.

Histoire du domaine
The history of the estate dates back to the early 20th century, when Silvio Quintarelli worked the vineyards at Figari, in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, alongside his brothers. In 1924, the family moved to Cerè in the Negrar Valley, where they continued their wine-growing business. In the 1950s, Giuseppe Quintarelli, known as ‘Bepi’, Silvio’s youngest son, took over the management of the estate. He then expanded the vineyard and the winery, whilst continuing to produce wine based on the traditional grape varieties and practices of Valpolicella. Giuseppe Quintarelli ran the estate until his death in 2012. The estate was then taken over by his daughter, Fiorenza Quintarelli. She now runs it alongside her sons, Francesco and Lorenzo. Winemaking is currently overseen by oenologist Dennis Borchia.
