Domain Mugnier Chambolle Musigny 2010
The 2010 Domaine JF Mugnier Chambolle Musigny is a red Burgundy wine classified as Village within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation and crafted by Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier. Made entirely from 100% Pinot Noir, it comes from the Les Plantes and La Combe d’Orveau parcels; Les Plantes, despite being classified as a Premier Cru, is intentionally included in this village cuvée. The 2010 vintage yielded a particularly small harvest for the estate in this appellation, marked by millerandage, with small berries and tannins described as supple and velvety. The cuvée is typically distinguished by an aromatic, delicate, and floral profile, supported by a fine structure and an open finish.

Histoire du domaine
The estate was founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier, a liqueur maker in Dijon. By the early 20th century, it owned nearly twenty hectares in Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges, following the acquisition of the Clos de la Maréchale in 1902. Until 1949, wine production was carried out alongside the family’s liqueur business. From 1878 onwards, the wines were marketed under the Château Chambolle-Musigny label. In 1950, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, the founder’s great-grandson, sold the liqueur business and leased the vineyard – by then reduced in size due to inheritance – to a wine merchant in Nuits-Saint-Georges. He resumed direct management of the Chambolle vineyards from 1978. Upon his death in 1985, his son Frédéric Mugnier took full responsibility for the family estate. In 2004, the reintegration of the Clos de la Maréchale, previously leased out, increased the estate’s size from 4 to 14 hectares. The estate is now owned by Jocelyne and Frédéric Mugnier.
