Histoire du domaine
Transactions involving the estate’s wines are documented as far back as 1808, whilst the wine itself has been known since the early 19th century. In 1933, Simone and Maurice Jabiol acquired the estate, then known as Château Petit-Faurie de Souchard, and gave it its modern layout. The vineyard was then situated on the northern slope of Saint-Émilion. The estate subsequently belonged to the Jabiol-Sciard family for several decades. In 1969, the term ‘Petit’ was dropped from its trade name, which became Château Faurie de Souchard. The Dassault family acquired the property in 2013 and incorporated it into Dassault Wine Estates, alongside Château Dassault and Château La Fleur. The estate retains its status as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. Wine-making is now carried out on a plot-by-plot basis in temperature-controlled vats, under the technical supervision of Jérôme Gauthier as part of the Dassault Wine Estates team.
