Histoire du domaine
A wine known as Doisy is mentioned as early as 1832 in André Jullien’s *Topographie de tous les vignobles connus*. The name Doisy-Daëne derives from Jean-Jacques-Emmanuel Daëne, a Bordeaux wine merchant and owner of the cru, under whose name Doisy appears in the 1855 classification. In 1875, Daëne’s sons inherited the estate; part of it was then sold to the Dubroca brothers. Doisy-Daëne was sold to Jean-Paul Billot in 1878, then passed on to his daughter Pauline in 1884. She sold the estate to the Debans brothers in 1889. Georges Dubourdieu acquired Doisy-Daëne from the Debans heirs in 1924. His son Pierre succeeded him in 1949, expanded the estate by acquiring part of Doisy-Dubroca and, in the early 1950s, created the Grand Vin Sec de Doisy-Daëne. Denis Dubourdieu took over the management of the château in 2000; his sons Fabrice and Jean-Jacques joined the family business in 2004 and 2006. Following the death of Denis Dubourdieu in 2016, Fabrice and Jean-Jacques Dubourdieu continue to manage the estate.
