Champagne Pol Roger Rose Millesime 2002
The 2002 Champagne Pol Roger Rosé Millésime is a rosé Champagne from Champagne produced by the Pol Roger house. Its blend combines 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay. This cuvée is built upon the house's Brut Vintage, supplemented before the second fermentation by approximately 15% red Pinot Noir wine from the finest crus of the Montagne de Reims. Produced in limited quantities, it matured for seven years in Pol Roger's cellars prior to release. The wines are vinified separately by grape variety and by cru before the final blending.

Histoire du domaine
Pol Roger made his first wine sale on 2 January 1849, at the age of 18, when his father’s illness – his father was a notary in Aÿ – led the family to seek a new line of business. The company moved to Épernay in 1851 to support its growth. From 1855 onwards, Pol Roger focused on producing brut champagnes, which were particularly popular on the British market at the time. Upon the founder’s death in 1899, his sons Maurice and Georges succeeded him. On 23 February 1900, the collapse of part of the cellars and buildings resulted in the loss of 500 barrels and around 1.5 million bottles. The house was subsequently passed down through the generations of the Pol-Roger family and their de Billy descendants. In the 1950s, Jacques and Jean Pol-Roger, alongside Christian de Billy, took part in its management. Since November 2020, Bastien Collard de Billy has represented the sixth generation within the company. Damien Cambres has been cellar master since April 2018, having succeeded Dominique Petit. The company now owns 94 hectares of vineyards and produces around 1.8 to 2 million bottles a year.
