Hardy
Founded in Cognac in 1863, Maison Hardy is a historic wine merchant and breeder renowned for its blends of old eaux-de-vie and prestige cognacs. Its identity is notably embodied in the "Noces" collection and the Four Seasons editions created with Lalique, which include Le Printemps and L’Été. The house remains connected to the fifth family generation through Bénédicte Hardy, brand ambassador.

Histoire du domaine
Maison Hardy was founded in 1863 by Anthony Hardy (1823-1888), a British wine and spirits professional who settled in Charente, francised his first name to Antoine, and adopted the Gallic rooster as his emblem. His Fine Champagne received a Diploma of Excellence in Amsterdam in 1869, and the "Cognac de l’Alliance", created as a tribute to Franco-Russian friendship, won a gold medal in Saint Petersburg in 1891. Following the passing of Valère Hardy, Armand Hardy took over the management of the family business and ran it until his death in 1957. Several of his sons joined the house starting in 1945; Jacques Hardy subsequently took over the management and particularly developed the markets in the Americas and English-speaking Africa. In the 1960s, the "wedding anniversary" cognac series appeared, including Noces de Perle, d’Or, de Diamant, and d’Albâtre. Jacques Hardy continued this focus on collectible cognacs with Perfection, created at the request of American importers in the late 1970s, and led the house until his retirement in 1999. After a period under the control of the investment fund Klesch Capital Partners, Hardy was acquired in 2001 by H. Mounier, a subsidiary of the UNICOOP cooperative group. The collaboration with Lalique gave birth in 2012 to the limited-edition Four Seasons series, inaugurated by Le Printemps and subsequently extended by L’Été, among others. Bénédicte Hardy, representing the fifth generation, retains a role as ambassador and commercial developer, while Mickaël Bouilly is identified as the cellar master of the house.
L'été
L’Été is a Grande Champagne cognac crafted from a blend of rare eaux-de-vie selected from Armand Hardy's collection. As the second expression in the Les Quatre Saisons series, it differs from Le Printemps through a more honeyed, indulgent aromatic evolution. It is presented in a Lalique decanter adorned with an amber-yellow crystal tiara.
- Origin of the cuvée name
- The name "L’Été" corresponds to the second season of the Hardy x Lalique "Les Quatre Saisons" collection and evokes the sunny, honeyed character sought for this blend.
- Cuvée creation year
- 2015
- Style of the cuvée
- An ample, indulgent, and evolved Grande Champagne cognac, consistently marked by notes of ripe fruit, honey, sweet spices, and rancio.
- Position within the range
- Second prestigious opus of the Hardy x Lalique limited collection "Les Quatre Saisons".
Histoire de la cuvée
The Les Quatre Saisons collection was conceived by Bénédicte Hardy in collaboration with Lalique starting in 2012. Following Le Printemps, L’Été was released in December 2015 as the second decanter in the series. Its blend is based on old Grande Champagne lots selected by Armand Hardy.
