Domain Lecheneaut Morey St Denis 2014
The 2014 Domaine Lecheneaut Morey Saint Denis is a village-appellation red Burgundy crafted by Domaine Lecheneaut from 100% Pinot Noir. This cuvée blends several Morey-Saint-Denis parcels, led by Les Pierres Virants, alongside En Seuvrey, Les Cognées, and Les Porroux. Harvesting is done by hand. The vines grow on limestone and clay-limestone soils, with varying marl content depending on the sector. The estate describes a structured wine that reconciles fruit expression with depth of substance.

Histoire du domaine
Fernand Lécheneaut founded the estate in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the late 1950s. At that time, the estate comprised 2.5 hectares of vineyards situated in the communes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. In 1986, his sons Philippe and Vincent, who had trained at the Beaune wine college, took over the family estate. From 1987 onwards, they expanded the estate by leasing vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Plots were subsequently acquired in Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, notably in Premier Cru appellations; the vineyard portfolio was also expanded to include Les Pruliers in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Le Clos des Ormes in Morey-Saint-Denis. The winery was extended and fitted with a temperature-control system, whilst an additional cellar and a storage building were constructed in 2005. Jules Lécheneaut, Vincent’s son, joined the estate in 2017. Recent legal and professional records now identify Vincent and Jules Lécheneaut as the estate’s managers, following Philippe Lécheneaut’s retirement.
