Château Labegorce Zede 2000 Double Magnum (300cl)
Château Labegorce Zede 2000 is a red wine from Margaux, produced by Château Labegorce Zédé and classified as a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. Its blend brings together 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. During this period, the estate was managed by Luc Thienpont; vineyard work combined drainage of new plantings, leaf stripping and green harvesting on the best parcels in order to limit yields. The Wine Advocate awards it 87/100 and advises drinking it from 2003 to 2013; Wine Spectator rates it 92/100 and recommends waiting until 2009. Critics describe a dense and complex Margaux, with very integrated tannins, marked by black fruits, dried flowers, a smoky touch and a prominent oak influence.

Château Labegorce Zédé
Château Labégorce-Zédé was a cru within the Margaux appellation, resulting from the division of the former Labégorce estate. Acquired by Hubert Perrodo in 2005, it was reunited with the estate’s other historic holdings and incorporated into Château Labégorce from the 2009 vintage onwards. The name Zédé is now that of Château Labégorce’s second wine.

Histoire du domaine
The existence of the lands belonging to the noble house of La Bégorce has been documented since 1332. Following the French Revolution, the historic estate was divided into several parts, including Labégorce, Labégorce-Zédé and L’Abbé Gorsse de Gorsse. The part that became Labégorce-Zédé was sold in August 1795 to Mr and Mrs Benoist. The name Zédé was subsequently associated with the vineyard by the descendants of this family, notably Gustave and Émile Zédé. In 1961, Jean Battesti acquired the property, replanted part of the vineyard and sold it in 1979 to a land consortium managed by Luc Thienpont. The estate was classified as a ‘Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel’ in the 2003 classification. Hubert Perrodo acquired Labégorce-Zédé in 2005, having previously purchased Château Labégorce in 1989 and L’Abbé Gorsse de Gorsse in 2002. These estates were brought together under the name Château Labégorce from the 2009 vintage onwards. The reunified estate is now owned by the Perrodo family, represented by Nathalie Perrodo Samani.
