Histoire du domaine
The name Château La Fleur-Pétrus dates back to the 18th century and refers to its location between the lieux-dits Pétrus and La Fleur, on the Pomerol plateau. In 1937, Jean-Pierre Moueix founded the wine merchant’s firm that bears his name in Libourne. He acquired Château La Fleur-Pétrus in 1950: this was his first wine estate acquisition in Pomerol. This acquisition preceded, in particular, the purchase of Château Trotanoy in 1953. After joining the family business in 1970, Christian Moueix initially oversaw the wine-making operations before becoming chairman in 1991. Edouard Moueix in turn joined the company in 2003. In 2012, a historic plot on the plateau was incorporated into the Château La Fleur-Pétrus vineyard. The estate remains the property of the Moueix family, as part of Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix, now managed by Christian and Edouard Moueix. Laurent Descos serves as cellar master for the estates, whilst Éric Murisasco is technical director.
