Histoire du domaine
The La Couspaude website is associated with the former name ‘La Croix Paute’, referring to a cross situated at the crossroads near the estate. The estate was already renowned in the 19th century: it was awarded a gold medal at the 1867 Paris World’s Fair and was listed among the premier crus of Saint-Émilion in the Féret guide. In 1898, the Féret guide featured an engraving of the estate and highlighted the reputation of its wines. Jean-Prosper Robin acquired Château La Couspaude on 24 February 1908. The estate was subsequently passed on to his son André, and then to Édith, André’s daughter, who married Étienne Aubert. In 1970, their three sons, Alain, Daniel and Jean-Claude Aubert, took over the estate. The château is listed amongst the grands crus classés in the Saint-Émilion classification approved in 2022. In 2026, Pierre-Henri and Véronique Flurin acquired the estate and entrusted its day-to-day management to Vignobles K, under the direction of Jean-Christophe Meyrou.
