Histoire du domaine
In 1908, the Féret guide listed Mr Combrouze as the owner of Château Grand-Pontet, then described as one of the former premiers crus of Saint-Émilion. The estate was included amongst the Grands Crus Classés in the first Saint-Émilion classification of 1955. In 1965, the Combrouze heirs sold the property to the wine merchant Barton & Guestier. The Pourquet and Bécot families subsequently acquired it in 1980. Sylvie Pourquet-Bécot took over its management from 2000. In 2021, Domaine Clarence Dillon purchased Château Grand-Pontet with a view to integrating it into Château Quintus. The Grand-Pontet plots now form part of the Quintus vineyard, comprising three combined estates totalling 45 hectares, of which 42 hectares are under vine. Château Grand-Pontet is therefore no longer an independent production unit and its name is no longer used as a standalone estate.
