Histoire du domaine
Clase Azul México was founded in 1997 in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, by Arturo Lomelí. The company was established to produce Mexican spirits – initially tequila – combined with handcrafted ceramics. Its first white decanter, decorated with cobalt blue, established the brand’s visual identity. As it developed, Clase Azul expanded its range to include mezcals, produced from varieties of agave sourced from various regions of Mexico. Arturo Lomelí remains the founder and managing director of the company. According to information published in 2024, he is the majority shareholder, whilst Juan Sánchez holds a minority stake. The company presents itself as an independent enterprise owned by Mexican interests. Viridiana Tinoco is currently the master distiller at Clase Azul México and oversees the creation of the company’s spirits.
