Domain Serge Dagueneau et Filles Cote de la Charite Les Montees de Saint Lay Pinot Noir 2020 Bottle (75cl)
With Les Montées de Saint-Lay 2020, Domaine Serge Dagueneau et Filles crafts a red wine from the IGP Côte de la Charité in the Loire Valley. This cuvée is made exclusively from Pinot Noir. The grapes come from a parcel known as "Les Pinottes", grown on soils combining clay, limestone, and iron. Hand-harvested, sorted, and destemmed, they ferment for 10 to 15 days before aging for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, with a minimal proportion of new wood.

Histoire du domaine
The estate traces its origins to the early 20th century, when Léontine Dagueneau, Valérie Dagueneau’s great-grandmother, founded it. It is situated in Les Berthiers, Saint-Andelain, one of the wine-growing hamlets in the Pouilly-Fumé region. The Dagueneau family has developed its vineyard there over several generations. Serge Dagueneau subsequently ran the estate with his daughters Florence and Valérie. In 2006, Florence and Valérie Dagueneau took over the estate; following Florence’s untimely death, Valérie has ensured its continuity. She is now in charge of winemaking and remains the designated contact for the Vignerons Indépendants. The family estate currently covers 21 hectares and produces wines from Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire and the Côtes de la Charité.
