Histoire du domaine
Domaine Huet was founded in Vouvray in 1928 by Victor Huet and his son Gaston, following the acquisition of the Haut-Lieu estate, which at the time comprised five hectares of vineyards. Le Haut-Lieu is the estate’s historic plot. Le Clos du Bourg was acquired in 1953; this vineyard, situated above the church in Vouvray, is surrounded by an ancient wall. Le Mont was then added to the estate in 1957. Gaston Huet developed the estate around Chenin Blanc and the terroirs of these three lieux-dits. His son-in-law, Noël Pinguet, took over the management of the estate in 1976. The estate committed to biodynamic viticulture in the early 1990s and obtained Demeter certification in 1993. In 2003, Anthony Hwang acquired a majority stake in the estate, whilst Noël Pinguet continued to run the business until 2012. Benjamin Joliveau, originally from Vouvray and with the estate since 2009, took charge of the wines in 2020. The estate is currently managed by Sarah Hwang, whilst winemaking is overseen by Benjamin Joliveau.
