Domaine Gauby
Domaine Gauby is a wine estate in Calce, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, some twenty kilometres north-west of Perpignan. It cultivates 44 hectares of vines on terroirs of limestone, marl and schist, within a larger agricultural estate that also includes woodland, scrubland and meadows. Established in its current form by Gérard Gauby in the mid-1980s, the estate is certified organic.

Histoire du domaine
The estate’s history dates back to the Gauby family, who initially cultivated ten ares of vines using horse-drawn ploughs as part of a mixed farming system. Georges Gauby, a former international rugby player, subsequently acquired three hectares of vines in Calce and chose to make his own wine rather than sell the grapes. His son Gérard took over the estate in the mid-1980s with his wife Ghislaine and gradually expanded the business. In 1996, the estate began its transition to organic farming and stopped using synthetic chemicals. Lionel Gauby joined his father in 2000, following a stint at Mas Jullien, and took charge of winemaking from the 2008 vintage onwards. Since 2014, new plantings have been managed using agroforestry methods. In 2024, Gérard and Ghislaine Gauby sold the estate to François Baulé and Yann Mazabraud to ensure its continuity. The entry in the 2026 Green Guide of *La Revue du vin de France* now lists François Baulé, Yann Mazabraud and Gérard Gauby as the owners.
