Domain Trevallon Rouge 2001 Magnum
Domaine Trevallon Rouge 2001 is a red wine from Domaine Trevallon, produced as an IGP Bouches-du-Rhône in the Languedoc region. It is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. For this vintage, harvesting took place from September 17 to 28, following three weeks of the mistral wind in August that concentrated the grapes. The estate describes a wine with a powerful structure, driven by aromatic tannins and a finish evoking garrigue and truffle.

Domaine Trevallon
Domaine de Trévallon is a family-run estate situated in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, on the northern slopes of the Alpilles, between Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Arles. Established as a vineyard by Éloi Dürrbach in 1973, it now cultivates 14 hectares, comprising 12 hectares of red grape varieties and 2 hectares of white grape varieties. Its wines are marketed under the IGP Alpilles designation, largely due to the historic role of Cabernet Sauvignon in the red grape varieties.

Histoire du domaine
Jacqueline de la Baume and René Dürrbach, both artists, acquired the Trévallon estate in 1960. Their son, Éloi Dürrbach, began establishing the vineyard there in 1973, after studying architecture and mathematics. He then cleared the limestone and stony terrain on the northern slope of the Alpilles to plant the first vines. For the red wine, he opted for a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, which at the time was somewhat at odds with the conventions of the Baux-de-Provence appellation. The first harvest was vinified outdoors in 1976, as the estate did not yet have a cellar. Éloi Dürrbach has managed the vineyard using organic farming methods since the estate’s inception. In the 1980s, the wines began to be distributed by L’Oustau de Baumanière, a neighbouring establishment. The decision to retain a significant proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon meant that the estate remained outside the Baux-de-Provence appellation; its wines now fall under the Alpilles PGI. René Dürrbach designed the wine labels, embedding the family’s artistic heritage into the estate’s identity. Following the death of Éloi Dürrbach in November 2021, his daughter Ostiane Icard took over the management of the estate. Aymeric Gaubert, who has been with the estate since 2006, serves as cellar master.
